So today it decided to finally throw a few fits... it puked 2 quarts of oil out of the oil pan gasket area. I tightened all the bolts I could get to and threw a quart back in, we'll see if it holds it down or not. Next it decided the gear selector didn't want to shift out of park and the release button thing was stuck, so I took a screw driver and beat on it until it finally released. Roflcopter - 2 Volvo - 0. After that it decided the switch I was using for the headlights(and wiring connected) wasn't up to the amperage demand and caught a little bit on fire again, luckily I had the spare parts in the trunk and got it all working again pretty quickly. So... now that the temper tantrum is over, I think we're gonna cut the springs and throw this thing on the ground this weekend!

For realsies? That's quite odd. Let them know that hitting it harder seemed to work just fine for me.

Yeah, it was JQJ in his V70R. He is going to get one from a junkyard, or he was.

I have no clue how mine was actually stuck, I checked all the stuff in the bottom of the bracket and it wasn't stuck down there. Or under the car. Looks like it was actually in the top of the handle with the button.

It's a common problem. All 3 of our automatic Volvo's had that problem.
